Trade Terms
Last updated: 1 November 2026
These Trade Terms apply to orders placed by business customers through the AKAN SHOP trade price list and order page. They sit alongside our Terms of Service; if there is a conflict, these Trade Terms apply to trade orders. AKAN SHOP is a trading name of AKAN LTD (company number 16967067, registered in England & Wales).
1. Eligibility and accounts
Trade pricing is for businesses buying for resale or business use. We may ask for company details or proof of trading, and may approve, refuse or withdraw trade access at our discretion. Trade price list access codes are confidential and must not be shared outside your business.
2. Prices and VAT
Trade prices are quoted in GBP and exclude VAT unless stated otherwise. VAT is added at the applicable rate and a VAT invoice is issued. Prices are tiered by quantity, are subject to change without notice, and the price confirmed in our order acknowledgement applies to that order. The minimum order is 5 units per product line.
3. Orders and acceptance
An order is a request to buy. A contract is formed only when we confirm the order in writing (including by email) or dispatch the goods. Stock is subject to availability, and we may reduce or decline quantities where stock is short.
4. Payment
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, payment is due in full before dispatch. Goods remain our property until we receive full payment. We may charge interest on overdue amounts under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
5. Delivery and risk
Delivery dates are estimates. Delivery charges for trade orders are as quoted at order confirmation. Risk passes to you on delivery. You must check goods on delivery and tell us of any shortage or visible damage within 3 working days of receipt, or for other defects within 14 days of receipt.
6. Samples
Trade customers may order samples at the retail price with free delivery.
7. Returns and faulty goods
Trade orders are not eligible for change-of-mind returns unless we agree in writing. If goods are damaged or faulty on arrival and reported within the periods in section 5, we will replace them like-for-like. Goods must be returned or kept available for inspection as we reasonably instruct. Our 12-month warranty on electrical products does not extend to products that have been modified, misused or accidentally damaged.
8. Compliance and resale
You are responsible for lawful resale of the goods, including any marketplace rules and labelling or product-safety obligations that apply to you as a seller. Product conformity documents (UKCA/CE) are available on request. You must not make claims about the products that we have not approved or that are inaccurate.
9. Liability
Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the price paid for the affected goods, and we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or any indirect or consequential loss.
10. Events outside our control
We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, including supplier, carrier or customs disruption.
11. General and governing law
These terms, together with our Terms of Service, are the entire agreement for trade orders. We may update them from time to time. The version at the time of your order applies. They are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions: info@akanltd.co.uk.
